Wasp Amphibious Ready Group ends Talisman Sabre with port visits
(July 26, 2019) the state capital, Australia – The forward-deployed amphibious operation ship USS Wasp (LHD 1) with the embarked thirty-first Marine military Unit (MEU), arrived in the state capital for a scheduled port visit Gregorian calendar month twenty-six once finishing Exercise amulet Sabre 2019.

Along with Wasp, USS Green Bay (LPD 20) and USS Ashland (LSD 48), each within the Wasp military Strike cluster (ESG), sailed into Australian ports with Green Bay moored in Cairns, Australia, and Ashland in Townsville, Australia.

The Wasp ESG and thirty-first MEU team may be a versatile, unfueled crisis response force, capable of conducting operations from combat missions to humanitarian aid and disaster relief. they're the premier crisis response force within the Indo-Pacific region.

During their port visit, Wasp can host the amulet Sabre 2019 closing ceremony. to boot, Sailors and Marines from all 3 ships can have the chance to participate in community events, tours, and liberty.

Exercise amulet Sabre 2019 passed off the coast of Northern Australia. it's a bilateral, biennial event designed to boost U.S. and Australian integration and combat readiness through realistic, relevant coaching. This year’s exercise was conjointly joined by forces from Japan, Canada, New Sjaelland, and nice Brittan.
